Truly Appreciate What You Have

Always remember that when you choose to worry about yesterday or tomorrow, you are not making your today any better. Choose not to focus on what you want that you don’t have and what you lack. You rob yourself of joy and happiness when you focus too much on what you want and what you lack. Instead of focusing on what you want or what you are lacking in your life, focus on what you already have, and be truly appreciative and thankful for what you have. When you learn to remove the want in your life, whatever you happen to get becomes a true gift.

I have found that those who are the happiest are those who do the most for others. In our society today, giving is so often thought of as the material gifts that we give, but our greatest giving is of our time, and kindness, and comfort to those who need it. At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished, it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better, and what you’ve given back. Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have. You won’t receive more by complaining about what you don’t have or what you are lacking.

Make a point to lift someone’s spirit today, even if it’s just a smile, which has the power to transform lives.
